Set a Sleep Schedule

Instead of going to bed at different times each night, set a sleep schedule and keep it as best you can. Go to sleep at the same time each night and set your alarm for the same time each morning, even on the weekends.

Once you adapt to the schedule, you’ll likely see an improvement in the quality and length of your sleep.

Consider Replacing Your Mattress 

If you’re wondering what causes sleep problems, it may be as simple as looking at your mattress. As mattresses age, the support system starts to lose integrity. This can result in lumps and pressure points that leave you tossing and turning throughout the night.

As a general rule, you’ll want to replace your mattress every seven to ten years. If your bed is much older than that or you wake up feeling stiff or achy, replace it as soon as possible.

Look for a mattress that’s firm enough to provide the support your body needs but soft enough to help you stay comfortable no matter what position you sleep in.
