Born and raised on the idea of authenticity, Miki Agrawal spent much of her life looking for ways to share what was inside her with other people. Born in Montreal but currently living in Austin, Agrawal would attend and graduate from Cornell University with her B.S. in Business and Communications. Upon graduation, Miki Agrawal would leap into the financial field by taking on a job at Deutsche Bank in New York City. The tragic events of 9/11 would shift the energy of her work toward something longer-lasting and of more personal import.
Upon leaving Deutsche Bank, Agrawal knew that she wanted to create something that had legs of its own. Turning to her love of nutrition and food, Miki Agrawal would introduce New York City to the farm-to-table pizza restaurant, Slice (now known as Wild). With two current locations in NYC, Wild continues to be a feather in the cap of Agrawal’s decorated resume.
While her affinity for food drove much of her work with Slice/Wild, she dared to dream larger by focusing on an area that was of particular import to her: personal health, hygiene, and sustainability.
Bringing TUSHY To Life
After a brief foray into apparel through THINX (sustainable underwear for menstruation), Miki Agrawal decided to hone in on problems that were a little closer to home. Throughout her life, Agrawal dealt with medical issues that were exacerbated by the bathroom. Inspired to try a bidet by her husband, Agrawal would make an online order – only to receive a broken item. Knowing that this could be the key to addressing her needs, entrepreneur Miki Agrawal decided to create a working bidet of her own. Thus TUSHY was born.
TUSHY is the socially conscious bidet that hit a high mark in popularity during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic as the toilet paper shortage in America worsened. More than just a way to avoid toilet paper shortages, TUSHY has helped to save millions of trees from getting flushed down the toilet every single year.
Other Work by Miki Agrawal
As TUSHY continues to grow and expand, Miki Agrawal is staying busy with other ventures. Agrawal recently traveled to Antarctica to speak with other agents of change. Agrawal would fall in love with the continent while she was there, absorbed by the natural beauty that it offered. Agrawal also worked alongside Dr. Mark Huyman to raise money for his non-profit organization, Food Fix. Agrawal has also helped mentor other young entrepreneurs, namely POC, to follow in her footsteps.
As far as her focus outside of work, Miki Agrawal is a published author and personal advocate for a number of key issues. Aside from her parents, Agrawal cites her identical twin sister as being one of the greatest influences on her life.
